Mastika Peshtera is a member of the large family of aniseed aperitifs. It is produced from high-quality ethyl alcohol and anise oil, which when cooled forms the crystals typical for mastika. Anise oil is known for its stimulating, refreshing and toning effect (including as an aphrodisiac) and its unique exotic flavour. Mastika Peshtera almost “has a love affair” with the delicious traditional Bulgarian vegetables and snow-white cheese, so it reveals its full deliciousness in combination with traditional Bulgarian Shopska salad.
